The site uses essential technologies for security, display, accessibility and operation. Statistical analytics is non-essential, blocked by default and enabled only after the user gives explicit consent.
What are cookies?
Cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage are different browser mechanisms. On this site cookies secure the infrastructure and enforce the analytics choice, localStorage retains persistent preferences, and sessionStorage temporarily retains exercise choices.
Cookie and storage categories
1. Essential technologies
Cloudflare sets __cf_bm for security, traffic management and abuse prevention, generally for about 30 minutes. The site also retains the cookie choice in localStorage. Elena does not use these technologies for advertising or marketing.
2. Local preference storage
elena-brand-theme stores the color theme, elena-a11y-settings stores accessibility settings, and elena_cookie_consent_v1 stores the choice, policy version and time of consent or rejection. These remain in localStorage until changed, reset or cleared in the browser.
3. Temporary exercise data
elena:resilience-referral:v1 stores a compass direction for up to two hours. elena-resilience-map-v1 and elena-emotion-lab-signal-v1 retain local answers and results for the browser session. They are not used for advertising.
4. Optional analytics
Lovable Visitor Analytics measures visitors, pageviews, visit duration, bounce rate, traffic sources and device types. The analytics script is blocked by Content Security Policy and does not run until explicit consent is given. After consent, a secure SameSite=Lax elena_analytics_consent_v1 cookie is retained for up to 180 days, the page reloads and analytics is allowed. Lovable processes the data for the site's analytics dashboard. Advertising tools, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel are not enabled.
Managing and withdrawing consent
Not interacting with the notice is not consent and analytics remains blocked. Selecting “Essential only” records rejection without enabling analytics. Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time through “Cookie information” in the footer. Withdrawal deletes the authorization cookie and reloads the page so the script is blocked again. WhatsApp and social links are governed by the external service's policy and open only after a user action.
